Aleksandra Popova

Aleksandra Popova is based in Oslo, Norway. She explores protection as a primal instinct that has shaped human experience, belief, and storytelling across time. Working primarily through metal, scale, and symbolic form, she investigates how this impulse is transformed into rite, object, and gesture.

Drawn to the traditions and beliefs connected to her own cultural origins, Popova explores how ancestral symbols and practices continue to exist in contemporary life. Moving between the personal and the collective, she reflects on the human need for protection, connection, and meaning.
